Mission
The mission of the ACT Youth Wing is to provide the broadest range of theatrical experience and education we can to the greatest number of young people we can while maintaining the highest level of quality we can in a safe and welcoming environment.
Workshops
We offer free workshops that are held on Saturdays throughout the year, September - May. Workshops are designed to teach basic theatre skills, such as Stage Movement, Finding Your Character, Improvisation, Script Analysis and more, in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. We want to teach the theatre arts, but we also want our students to have fun and form friendships with other like-minded students from throughout our community and learn life skills that they can use in any aspect of their lives, not just theatre.

Grades 4-8 (Bowman & Silverburg Groups) will meet from 11:00 to 12:30, and grades 9-12 (Dean/Cole Group) will meet from 1:00 to 3:00. All workshops will be held at the Aiken Community Theatre, 126 Newberry St. SW in historic Downtown Aiken unless otherwise specified. Keep your eyes on our social media pages for the latest updates!
Immersion Program
In 2011, we established the Immersion Fund, supported by the Broadway & Beyond Fundraiser productions, as well as contributions from our supportive donors. With the monies raised, we are able to take a select group of students to intensive regional workshops, such as Broadway Student Summit in NYC, the South Carolina Theatre Association Conference, and the Southeastern Theatre Conference. Our goal is to expand the reach of this program, so that we can make sure that all of our students are able to experience a well-rounded theatre education.
