Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Come in, get some coffee and treats, and sign up for Open Mic. Open Mic will start at 7:00, and the McDonald Boyd Trio will take the stage by 8:00.

In the middle of 2020, amidst the Covid19 pandemic, Whitney McDonald had the idea to start an acoustic trio. She and David Boyd were already bandmates in their church band, Water to Wine, and had played a few open mic nights around Aiken. With bars and restaurants beginning to open back up, live music was still slow to come back, especially for full bands. This is when Whitney had the idea to form an acoustic group. David was on board with the idea, so Whitney approached her father, Ken McDonald, about the concept. Ken is a drummer and has played music his entire life. He agreed that an acoustic act would be something he’d like to do. And so, the McDonald-Boyd Trio was born. They play an eclectic mix of music, from country to pop to rock, stripped down and made their own.
