A Doublewide, Texas Christmas will hold auditions on Monday, May 23 and Tuesday May 24th at 7pm.

CHARACTERS
The following is a breakdown of each character.
• Big Ethel Satterwhite – She is in her 60’s, gruff, but down-to-earth. She works at the Stairway to Heaven Retirement Village. She and her husband live in Doublewide, Texas.
• Georgia Dean Rudd – She is in her 40s and loud in person and clothes. She works at Bronco Betty’s Buffeteria and is Joveeta’s best friend.
• Lark Barken – She is in her 20’s. She is quite and naïve. She has a baby named Arden Rose. She also works at the Buffeteria.
• Haywood Sloggett – He’s in his 70s. He is a young 70 and a very caring man. He is Doublewide’s adopted grandfather.
• Patsy Price – She is in her 60s and the sister of Haywood Sloggett. She has been released from a mental hospital. Patsy was part of the high society in her former town.
• Norwayne “Baby” Crumpler – He is in his 40s. Baby is Doublewide’s policeman, fireman, and handyman. He is a Texas good ol’ boy. He is Joveeta’s brother and Caprice’s son.
• Joveeta Crumpler – She’s in her 40s and is not married. She is the mayor of Doublewide, Texas. Joveeta always wants to do what’s right. Caprice is her mother and Baby is her brother.
• Caprice Crumpler – She’s in her 70’s. She acts and dresses much younger. She is Joveeta’s and Baby’s mother.
• Nash Sloggett – He is in his 40’s. He runs a fishing boat in Hawaii. Nash is Lark’s father and Arden Rose’s grandfather. Haywood Sloggett is his father. Georgia Dean is Nash’s first true love.
Janette Godwin-Director
Janette made her directorial debut in A Christmas Story for ACT in 2019. For many years she has been involved in ACT productions as an actor, assistant director, stage manager or crew member. She is a past member of ACT’s Board of Directors. Janette is a retired ACPS teacher. Janette and Nan enjoy life by traveling and spending time with their two dogs and cat. She is an avid Peanuts & Snoopy collector. Each summer Janette participates in the Salkehatchie Summer Service through Trinity UMC-Aiken, where she helps rehab homes for those in need. Since Janette is a native Texan, she is very excited about directing A Doublewide, Texas Christmas!
