Auditions for A Charlie Brown Christmas Set for October 3 and 4 at Aiken Community Theatre

 

Auditions for the stage musical version of the classic Charles Shultz’s traditional Christmas cartoon “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will be held at the Aiken Community Theatre, 126 Newberry Street, at 3 pm Oct. 3 and 7 pm Oct. 4. Auditionees should come to the main entrance of the theater which will be open 30 minutes prior to the start of auditions.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” is the stage musical adaptation of Charles Schultz’s 1965 cartoon special that has become a Christmas season tradition ever since. The stage adaptation first released in 2013 contains everything that made the TV special so popular for more than half a century.

The auditions will seek to fill the roles of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Pig Pen, Frieda, Schroeder, Violet, Sally, Patty, and Shermy.

The audition will consist of cold readings from the script, and an assessment of moderate level singing ability. Performers cast will also do moderate level stage movements. There are roles for five males and five females ages 18 plus. Technical positions will also be filled at the auditions.

The Aiken Community Theatre will be presented for six performances Dec. 3,4,5, 9,10, and 11.

A Charlie Brown Christmas will be directed by Thurmond Whatley. Music will be directed by Steven McKinney.
