No prepared monologues are required to audition. We will do readings from the script or other acting material, which we will provide.
For the young actors, there will a singing audition first. At the end of the singing audition, you will move on the dancing audition. The audition process will end with an acting audition. Please note, you may be released after the singing and/or dancing audition which means you will not be cast in the show.
For Music/Singing auditions, singers will sing an excerpt of the song corresponding with the character they're auditioning for. They will sing along with the rehearsal tracks provided by ACT. The songs for each character are as follows:
Annie-Tomorrow
Miss Hannigan- Little Girls
Grace- I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here
Warbucks- Why Should I Change a Thing?
Rooster/Lily- Easy Street
Bert Healy- You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile
For the choreography portion of auditions, make sure to wear comfortable clothing and either dance shoes or closed-toe shoes. For your safety, please no flip-flops or bare feet! Everyone auditioning will learn a short dance combination around 30-40 seconds in length. We'll learn the dance together as a group, then break into smaller groups to perform the dance to ensure that everyone gets an equal opportunity to be seen. We'll also rotate groups, so everyone will have more than one opportunity to perform the dance. Don't worry if you miss a step or two! We're not looking for perfection--what we're really looking for is character! Just remember to be energetic and have fun!!
The rehearsal schedule is Mondays and Thursdays 6:30-8:30 and Sundays 2:00-4:30
