What’s Going On
Workshops
We offer free workshops for students, starting age 9, in the 4-12 grades. Workshops are held the second Saturday of each month, August – May. Workshops are designed to teach basic skills such as diction, projection, movement, character, improvisation, audition prep, script analysis and some technical skills. We want to teach the theatre arts, but we also want our students to have fun and form friendships with other like-minded students from throughout our community and learn life skills that they can use in any aspect of their lives, not just theatre.
Workshop Times:
Garden Theatre
Every summer, the Youth Wing presents a free show that travels throughout the community. Usually performed the second week in June, these shows provide our actors with the opportunity to perform at different venues, as well as sharing their love of theater with young audiences. If interested, please contact the Box Office for more information.
Immersion Program
In 2011, we established the Immersion Fund, supported by the Broadway & Beyond Fundraiser productions, as well as contributions from our supportive donors. With the monies raised, we are able to take a select group of students to intensive regional workshops, such as Broadway Student Summit in NYC, the South Carolina Theatre Association Conference, and the Southeastern Theatre Conference. Our goal is to expand the reach of this program, so that we can make sure that all of our students are able to experience a well-rounded theatre education.
